Medicforce is dedicated to promoting free first aid and CPR training to communities throughout the World, not forgetting the US. Thousands of rural communities exist that are 30mins or more from EMS (Emergency Medical Service), it's our goal to provide life saving first aid training, CPR instruction and an AED to communities throughout the United States. This pioneering project starts with North Carolina. In 2009 our goal is to visit 50 communities, provide training, a community medical kit, and AED. 
 
Medical Training and Homeland Security
 
Rural communities are particularly vulnerable to natural disasters (tornadoes, floods, and earthquake) and the ever increasing threat of terrorist related activities. Preparedness is the key. Advanced First aid classes are planned for volunteers within the community, together with a comprehensive medical kit including an AED. In the event of an emergency these individuals will act as first responders until emergency services can be mobilized. These individuals will then work alongside professionals to help in an emergency.
 
Program itinerary.
 

Volunteer trainers attend a 10 day class. These classes are scheduled throughout the year (call for more details). After training you will accompany a senior instructor for your first two sessions and then you'll be dispatched to teach your first class! Volunteers should be able to commit to 5 community medic training sessions within one year. 
 
Trainers will spend three days in each community, usually Friday - Sunday.

Without CPR a person experiencing cardiac arrest has only 5 or 6 minuets before irreversible brain damage occurs. CPR can extend the window of opportunity for resuscitation and using an AED (Automated External Defibulator) within the first five minuets can increase survival rates to as much as 60%.

You don't have to be a doctor or a nurse to volunteer. We provide full training for teaching this class. A senior instructor will accompany you on all training visits until you are ready to teach alone. 

Our first aid class is designed to be fun and interactive, no more stuffy classrooms with power-point presentations. We cover the basics and make them relevant to real -life.

Inclusion: Accommodation costs and food are covered for all volunteers (not during training).

 Commitment: Minimum one year, 5 classes.		 However long you join us, we can provide you with our fundraising pack, which includes examples of other volunteers and how they raised funds. It also includes details of grant giving trusts. So we will help you raise funds to come on one of our programs - just ask for our fundraising pack once you apply
